“Why does the world need a Piano Day? For many reasons. But mostly, because it doesn’t hurt to celebrate the piano and everything around it: performers, composers, piano builders, tuners, movers and most important, the listener.”
– Nils Frahm

Piano Day, is an international event that takes place on the 88th day of the year – because of the 88 keys on the piano.

Reflections in a piano.jpg

There will be a great mix of professional and amateur pianists performing throughout the day. Expect music from classical to popular to jazz.

Due to overwhelming interest, our performance slots are now full for this year. Check back in January 2020 for your chance to play the Shoreditch Treehouse’s Steinway piano.

At Shoreditch Treehouse we see Piano Day as a great opportunity to celebrate the piano and also raise money for a charity that is very close to our hearts, Help Musicians UK (HMUK). HMUK is the leading UK charity for professional musicians of all genres, from starting out through to retirement. They help at times of crisis, but also at times of opportunity, giving people the extra support they need at a crucial stage that could make or break their career.
